For the third time in four years, honours were shared at the Australian Women’s Foursomes Championship at Riversdale Golf Club in Melbourne. New Zealand pair Cecilia Cho and Lydia Ko shared the title with Koreans Su Hyun-Oh and Lee Park as both pairs carded rounds of 68 and 71 (139) in excellent conditions. Cho and Ko hold the Number 2 and Number 3 spots on the Women’s World Amateur Rankings and the pair are familiar with Australia Ko was the leading amateur at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open and Cho is the current Australian Women’s Stroke Play champion. Oh, who plays at Kingswood Golf Club, qualified for the recent ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open for the third year in a row. Park, who is also a Kingswood member, plays golf in both Australia and Korea. Queensland pair Ashley Ona and Courtney Massey were two strokes behind the winners following rounds of 69 and 72. Rhianna Davies and Jessica Speechley (WA) were in fourth place, six strokes behind Ona and Massey. Former winners of the Australian Women’s Foursomes Championship include Karrie Webb, Kristie Smith, Karen Lunn and Jan Stephenson.
