Howlong digging deep for Mick

The Howlong Golf Resort lost one of their own last year when greenkeeper Mick Howard succumbed to Melanoma, leaving behind his wife Misty, and two children Tom and Millie, aged four and seven. Mick was 45.

This year, the staff and members  are out to make sure his kids will be taken care of.

The Resort will be holding a charity golf day in memory of Mick on November 3rd to raise funds for a trust account for his children Tom and Millie.

“Mick was a genuinely honest and loyal bloke who had a great sense of humour and a big smile,” General Manager Chris Rebbechi said.

'Rattle' as he was known, was a popular and well-respected member of the team at the club. He was keen sportsman who played senior football and cricket in the area after moving to the district from Hay.

Donations for the event, and charity auction, however big or small, are appreciated and each contribution will be recognised on the day.

The Club is hoping a full field of golfers will take part with families and friends joining in at the conclusion of the round.
