Hull comes agonisingly close

Australian world No.35 Katherine Hull fought back from a poor second round to finish outright second behind American Candie Kung at the LPGA Tour&aposs Kolon Championship in South Korea. After an impressive opening six-under 66 that gave her a two-shot buffer at the head of the field, Hull faulted with a disappointing 76 that saw her drop three shots behind the leaders. But a composed 69 in the third and final round saw her finish at five-under overall, just one stroke behind Kung. Hull, 26, had three birdies in the final six holes to give herself a chance of overhauling the American but Kung proved too steady to clinch victory. Sophie Gustafson, Jeong Jang, Jee Young Lee and Hee-Won Han were tied for third place at four-under, while Jimin Kang and Christina Kim were a further stroke back.
