Hull set to overtake Webb

Courtesy: ALPG At the Women&aposs Australian Open, Katherine Hull declared that her goals for 2009 included reaching the world&aposs top 10 and the news this week has only reinforced that she is well on the way to achieving this. With her runner-up finish at last week s HSBC Women’s Champions event in Singapore, Hull has continued her meteoric rise up the Rolex World Rankings to No. 12. Karrie Webb is currently ranked No.9 in the world. At the end of June 2008, Hull was treading water at No.105 on the rankings and really not going anywhere. Her rise has coincided with her new found confidence since her win at the CN Canadian Women’s Open in August 2008. Since that drought-breaking victory on the toughest women’s tour in world golf, she was victorious at the recent ANZ Ladies Masters, has had four runner-up finishes, and finished in the Top-10 on a further six occasions. She also starred in the International Team at the Lexus Cup where she was unbeaten in her three matches; the only player to do so. Hull s superb finish to the 2008 season saw her finish 13th on the LPGA Official Money List with US$1,045,619.00 in prizemoney. This saw her named as Australian sport s leading female earner for 2008.
