Ian Frost (Bendigo) has claimed the 2015 Kingston Heath Senior Amateur with a fine round of 75 (3 over). Beginning on the 10th hole, Ian played consistently in the difficult conditions which included a respectful birdie on the tough 16th hole.
“I’ve played a lot of golf courses, and this would have to be in the top 2” Frost mentioned in his presentation speech.
Talented player Barry Tippett (13th Beach) was a further shot back with a score of 76.
In the nett, it was a fellow Ian claiming a win, with Ian Donaldson (Yering Meadows) carding a nett score of 72 off his handicap of 5 to be crowned the handicap champion for 2015.
A blustery August day greeted the players with winds averaging 30 km an hour. The sun was attempting to break through the clouds throughout the afternoon with the temperature reaching a maximum of 14 degrees midway through the round.
A maximum field of 100 players eagerly teed up on the one of the finest golf courses in the world as expressed by many top regarded players. Ian Poulter commended the layout when he made an appearance in the Australian Masters.

The field of 100 comprised of 23 interstate players, including 7 from Yowani in the ACT.
