Ilhee Lee wins Bahamas LPGA event

South Korea&aposs Ilhee Lee has taken out the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, holding off Irene Cho by two shots on the final day. Lee birdied the 18th hole on Sunday to finish the shortened LPGA event on 11 under overall after a bogey-free final round on Paradise Island. The inaugural edition of the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic finished on Sunday after three rounds of 12 holes each as flooding had left a number of holes on the Ocean Club Golf Course underwater. But that did not stop Lee, who rose from a share of fifth spot to take the championship with a five-under 42. Lee&aposs third round included birdies on the sixth, seventh, 10th, 14th and 18th holes, while the USA&aposs Cho blitzed the final six holes to leap from 44th to second position on nine under overall. Cho birdied the second and seventh holes before flying home with birdies on the 10th, 14th and 18th, plus an eagle on the par-five 11th to post a seven-under 40. Sweden&aposs Anna Nordqvist claimed third at eight under ahead of a quintet on seven under that including world number 10 Cristie Kerr. Overnight leader Paola Moreno of Colombia plummeted from the top of the leaderboard to a share of 13th position at five under with a four-over 51. Australia&aposs Lindsey Wright, who started the third round in second spot, followed Moreno down the leaderboard after carding a three-over 50.
