Inaugural Geoff Ogilvy Golf Challenge

Golfers throughout Victoria can now make a difference to the lives of 6000 children living in out-of-home care in Victoria.

The Tee-Up for Kids Foundation, with the assistance of Golf Victoria and the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, will be conducting the inaugural Geoff Ogilvy Golf Challenge to raise funds and help with the education and general assistance needed by disadvantaged children throughout the State. Geoff Ogilvy has generously agreed to provide his name to the event to create profile for a very worthy cause.

The 2013 Geoff Ogilvy Golf Challenge will be a Four-Ball Best Ball Stableford Event played over 18-holes at the at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club on Monday 16 December shortly after the club hosts the 2013 Australian Masters. There will be separate sections for men’s; women’s and mixed pairs with a maximum of 100 pairs competing.

All Victorian golf clubs, District Associations and the Victorian Golf League are invited to either play a selection event to determine representative pairs, or simply nominate one men’s pair; one women’s pair and/or one mixed pair (amateurs or professionals) to represent the club/District/League at the event.

The cost to play is $350 per pair, includes lunch and all prizes.  Key features of the Challenge are:

  • The pair with the best overall score on the day will be the inaugural winners of the Geoff Ogilvy Golf Challenge; each receive a specially embroidered Tee Up for Kids Foundation Golf Bag and also play in the 2014 Victorian Open Pro-Am in February at 13th Beach Golf Links;

  • The home club of the winning pair will receive the Tee Up for Kids Foundation Geoff Ogilvy Challenge Trophy.

  • Each participating club will go into a draw to receive a personal visit by Geoff Ogilvy during 2014.

  • Each participating club will go into the draw for tickets and return airfares to the 2014 British Open for two people. (Note: accommodation is not included).

Entries will be accepted on the basis of receipt of entry until the total field capacity of 100 pairs is reached. To be part of the event, each affiliated golf club; Country District Golf Association or the Victorian Golf League is requested to initially complete and return the attached nomination form as soon as possible but no later than June 30.

Notes:

(i)         Clubs, Districts and League are able to nominate one men’s pair; one women’s pair and/or one mixed pair to compete in the event without having to provide specific player details provided the official nomination form is received. Specific player details and the required entry fee(s) are required a minimum of four weeks prior to the date of the Challenge.

(ii)        Should less than 100 nominated pairs be entered by June 30, direct entries will then be accepted.
