Golf Queensland Shows (EP 1-10)

Episode 10:

On Episode 10, well-renowned golf media identity Geoff Shackelford is on the line (11:00), The Open is dissected, former Australian Cricketer Brett Geeves is in-studio to reveal his golfing ambition (1:07:01) and young gun Karl Vilips (1:29:03) rounds out a massive show. Mike Clayton and Mark Hayes join host Andy Maher. 

The Golf Queensland show starts at 1:47:20 with Mike Clayton discussing his Top 3 courses in Queensland. 

 

Episode 9:

The Open is front and centre on Episode 9 with Mat Goggin (6:19) and Ash Hall (1:05:35) joining the show. Golf Australia’s Rules guru Simon Magdulski goes head-to-head with Hayesy on the first “I Put It To You…” segment (1:17:37) before former Australian Test Cricketer Greg Blewett stops by (1:36:12). The LPGA’s dress code drama and a nude Great White Shark cap off a jam-packed show. Ali Whitaker and Mark Hayes join host Andy Maher.

The Golf Queensland show starts at 2:10:27 with special guest Louis Dobbelaar chatting from the Golf Australia National Camp in Houston, discussing his training, and what it's like having Rickie Fowler among his friends list. 

 

Episode 8:

On Episode 8, 1991 The Open champion and CBS Golf analyst Ian Baker-Finch joins the show (1:47), Queenslander Cam Smith tells us about his charge at The Open next week (43:55), Curtis Luck chats on the eve of the John Deere Classic (1:03:49) and Hayesy is fired up about the Jon Rahm rules debacle (1:17:18). Jo Charlton and Mark Hayes join host Andy Maher.

The Golf Queensland show starts at 43:55 with Cameron Smith chatting about watching State of Origin Game 3 after meeting Queensland Maroons Captain Cameron Smith, his love for cars and why he enjoys coming home to Queensland.

 

Episode 7:

Mark Hayes and Mike Clayton return to join host Andy Maher. Episode 7 features World No. 1 So-Yeon Ryu to discuss her rise to the top and her love for Vegemite (2:44), our first “Ask Us Anything” segment is launched (49:45), we chat to recent The Open qualifier Ryan McCarthy (1:08:02) and new PGA of Australia CEO Gavin Kirkman stops by (1:20:43). 

The Golf Queensland show starts at 1:55:32 with special guest John 'Smoko' Smoljko after his terrific win at the Far North Queensland Golf Championship to earn the final regional exemption in to the Isuzu Queensland Open.

Episode 6:

Andy Maher is joined by guests Alison Whitaker and Martin Blake. Episode 6 features a chat with Minjee Lee's coach Ritchie Smith (19:23), the caddie of the women’s World No.1 Tom Watson (31:06), Golf Australia's High Performance Director Brad James (45:54) and British Amateur runner-up Dylan Perry (1:04:01). We also discuss Jordan Spieth's bet with his caddie Michael Greller!

The Golf Queensland show starts at 1:18:45 with Golf Queensland & QAS Head Coach Grant Field discussing the Queensland Boys' & Girls' Amateur at Bargara Golf Club, where Queensland's and the nations best juniors are contesting the state championship.

Episode 5:

Andy Maher and Mark Hayes are joined by guest co-host Jo Charlton. Episode 5 features Mark Hayes’ beef with Brandel Chamblee over lengthening courses (4:40), golf writer John Huggan is on the line from Scotland (7:36), Rory McIlroy’s strange year and his social media spat with Steve Elkington (37:10) and Su Oh joins the show from the U.S. (43:05). 

The Golf Queensland show starts at 1:10:35 with young gun Jediah Morgan discussing his magnificent wins in Singapore and the NT Amateur.

 

Episode 4:

Andy Maher and Mark Hayes are joined by guest co-host Mike Clayton. We have an in-depth chat with 2006 US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy (8:07) as well as catch up with Marc Leishman (54:55) on the eve of Round 1 at Erin Hills GC. Ryan Ruffels (1:04:29) also joins the Inside The Ropes team from Jamaica, plus we talk all things topical around Australian golf and on the world stage. 

The Golf Queensland show starts at 1:35:00 with special guest Sheree Hasson during her venture to the Qld Women's Sand Green Championships and the golden bunker lesson she learnt from Steven Bowditch.

Andy Maher and Mark Hayes are joined by Martin Blake on Episode 3 of Inside The Ropes. The U.S. Open is under the spotlight with Australian qualifier Nick Flanagan joining the show (5:30) followed by Golf Australia's Director of Tournaments, Trevor Herden (29:06). Plenty on how our Aussies are traveling on the global tours whilst Jacs Ford discusses her passion for more women to take up golf (56:28). Finally, Martin Blake has discovered a website dedicated to Donald Trump's golf game (1:06:10).

The Golf Queensland starts at 1:18:00 with Carbrook Golf Club Club Manager Scott Wagstaff chatting about the recovery he faced after his course was devastate by Cyclone Debbie.
