Interstate Series – Day 2 Report

Australian Men’s Interstate Teams Matches – Federal Golf Club, Canberra
 
The Victorian team have continued their good form in winning their third and fourth round matches to maintain their lead at the Australian Men’s Interstate Teams Matches in Canberra.
 
The Victorians, who have won each of their contests so far, defeated Western Australia in the morning and South Australia this afternoon.
 
In excellent conditions at Federal Golf Club, Lucas Herbert and Ryan Ruffels won both of their matches for the Victorian side.
 
New South Wales moved into second place after a narrow win over Queensland and victory over Tasmania.
 
South Australia held their position in the top three after a 6-1 win over Tasmania this morning.
 
Queensland is in fourth place, level on contests and just two matches behind South Australia.
 
Western Australia is in fifth place and Tasmania are sixth.
 
The fifth round is on Thursday morning. The final takes place on Friday morning.
 
Australian Women’s Interstate Teams Matches – Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club, Canberra
 
After an excellent Wednesday performance, the New South Wales women’s team moved into the lead at the Australian Women’s Interstate Teams Matches for the Gladys Hay Memorial Cup.
 
The NSW team defeated Tasmania and Queensland 5-0 during the day to move one and a half contests clear of the field.
 
Doey Choi and Celina Yuan both recorded strong victories in the morning round for NSW against Tasmania.
 
Co-overnight leaders, the Western Australian team are now in second place after securing a halved contest against Queensland this afternoon.
 
Just two matches separate WA from the Queensland team who are in third  place.
 
After a challenging opening day, the Victorian team bounced back to win both of their contests on Wednesday and move into fourth place on the leaderboard.
 
South Australia recorded their first victory in a contest against Tasmania this morning. The SA team are in fifth place ahead of Tasmania in sixth.
 
The fifth round is on Thursday morning. The final takes place on Friday morning.
