Isuzu back Queensland Open golf championship for another three years

Isuzu Trucks has committed to another three years as major sponsor of the Queensland Open Golf Championship.

Mr Mike Yoda, managing director of Isuzu Australia, confirmed the company’s on-going support during Sunday’s final round of the Open at Brookwater.

“We are proud to announce our continued support of the Queensland Open, said Mr Yoda.

He was supported by Isuzu’s Brisbane Dealer Principal, Alan Newcombe, who was a driving force behind the company’s role in resurrecting the 90-year old tournament at Brookwater three years ago.

The 2016 Queensland Open will be contested at Brisbane Golf Club which hosted the initial Open in 1925.

“We are delighted to be involved for another three years and want to acknowledge the tremendous job Brookwater has done over the past three years,’’ said Mr Newcombe.

Golf Queensland chairman Peter Castrisos said the commitment by Isuzu Trucks guaranteed the immediate future of the Open.

“Isuzu Trucks has been outstanding for the tournament and it is a real positive for golf in this state to have such a sponsor involved in the future,’’ said Mr Castrisos.

“And the effort by everyone at Brookwater in hosting the past three Queensland Opens has been excellent. On behalf of Golf Queensland we sincerely thank Brookwater.”
