Jackson too good at Metro

Michael Jackson from Yarra Yarra has battled wet windy weather to secure victory at the Metropolitan Plate. The event, which is the last of the senior sandbelt week, consisted of undesirable golfing weather much like the whole week. However, this didn’t phase Jackson who produced phenomenal golf coming home with a strong one under par back nine. He went on to record an 18 hole total 73, one over par.

Michael is not unfamiliar with winning on the Doug Bachli Order of Merit, and this victory is only strengthening his chances of winning the 2013 trophy.

In the nett, Barry Miles from Sanctuary Cove had a day out with a fine nett score of 66 off his 13 handicap. Amazingly Barry went out in a one over par 37 and came home with 42.

The outstanding Metropolitan layout was admired by all, with the newly built $12 million clubhouse facility providing a superior experience to the players.

Thank you to all players who had participated throughout the senior sandbelt week.

The seniors will have a small break now before heading north to compete in the Coomealla Senior Amateur beginning September 9.
