Jamberoo Public visits Jamberoo Golf Club

On Friday 12th September Jamberoo Golf Club hosted the local school, Jamberoo Public, for a few holes of Ambrose. The weather was perfect and the kids seemed to have a great time.

For the past few weeks students from Jamberoo Public have been participating in a MYGolf Program organised by their teacher Justine Doorn-McCormack and the local professional Jim Butt. Also helping out were two keen members from the golf club, Phil Lewis and Linda McGlinchey.

The students showed real talent especially considering they had missed out on a few sessions due to all the rain they have had this term! Each group played five holes in an Ambrose format and there were some impressive scores returned. There was even a count back for first place with an impressive score of 25!

It was great to see all the kids out on the golf course enjoying themselves. A big thank you must go to all the volunteers from the club that came out to help on the day. We had enough people helping to make sure there was a walker with each group to help the kids out, and of course someone to man the BBQ for the sausage sizzle at the end!
