Jamieson steams into the lead

Scott Jamieson is poised to win the Volvo Golf Champions after moving five strokes clear following the third round in Durban on Saturday. The Scotsman shot a four-under 68 on day three, including five birdies and an eagle, to surge to the top of the leaderboard on 15 under at the Durban Country Club. Jamieson is now on track to capture a second South African title in the space of a month after winning the inaugural Nelson Mandela Championship ahead of Steve Webster and Edoardo de la Riva in a play-off last December. Thai golfer Thongchai Jaidee, who led the 33-man winners-only field after the opening round on Thursday, closed the day five shots off the pace and in a three-way tie at the European Tour event. Jaidee struggled in the third round, bogeying two of his final three holes for a one-over 73. Joining him on 10 under is Frenchman Julien Quesne (67) and overnight leader Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa, who slid down the leaderboard following his two-over 74. PGA and The Open Championship winner Padraig Harrington carded a five-under 67 on Saturday as the Irishman moved alongside Italian Francesco Molinari (68) at eight under for the tournament. England&aposs Danny Willett (70) is in a share of seventh with Scotsman Paul Lawrie (70) and Irishman Shane Lowry (70) on seven under. Italian youngster Matteo Manassero holds sole possession of 10th spot following his brilliant six-under 66 round on Saturday, one that featured seven birdies. South Africa&aposs Branden Grace, the defending champion, is a shot further back heading into the final day of play. Grace double-bogeyed his second hole of the day but managed to regroup and card a three-under par 69, moving him to five under alongside Spain&aposs Rafa Cabrera-Bello (70), local favourite Ernie Els (71), Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts (71), Jeev Milkha Singh of India (72) and Dane Thomas Bjorn (72).
