Jarred Pilgrim

Jarred Pilgrim is a PhD student from the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living at Victoria University. The focus of his PhD thesis is tournament preparation in golf. Specifically, to identify the self-regulatory behaviours that are important in tournament preparation in golf, and the relative importance of these behaviours to players of different competitive abilities.

Jarred completed his Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) at Deakin University. For his honours thesis he investigated the role of the caddie in elite-level golf and his manuscript has been accepted for publication. During his studies Jarred worked as a high performance trainer with a number of elite sporting organisations including Eastern Rangers TAC cup squad (Australian rules football) and Rowville Sports Academy golf and soccer programs.

Jarred is currently involved in the Golf Australia high performance program, in which he assists other industry professionals to develop evidence-based strategies for future talent identification and development.
