Jo Klatten wins Yamba

Frenchwoman Joanna Klatten continued her love affair with Australia, winning the BWAC ALPG Pro-am at Yamba Golf and Country Club at the second hole of a sudden death playoff over Queenslander Bree Arthur. Both players shot impressive rounds of 3 under par 70 in tricky windy conditions, finishing one shot ahead exciting young prospects, Ashley Ona from Queensland and Chloe Leurquin from Belgium. Klatten who won the Victorian Open in 2012, also in a sudden death playoff holed a 2 metre birdie putt on the 18th hole for victory after both players made par on the difficult 10th hole. Klatten who has openly adopted Australia as her second home was more than happy to escape the harsh French winter and compete on the ALPG Tour and was glowing in her praise for the event and the superb Yamba GC layout. Klatten offered a huge thank you to the main sponsor Noel Galvin from BWAC, everyone at Yamba Golf and Country Club and all the other sponsors for such a fantastic event. Noel spoke openly about his passion for supporting young adults and with so many rookies and young players competing here today feels that the ALPG and BWAC are a perfect fit. The ALPG Tour heads south to Antill Park GC in Picton for the second event in the 2014 ALPG Club Car series, the Ingham s ALPG Pro-am on January 10th.
