Job Opportunity: Regional Development Officer

Golf Victoria (GV) is responsible for the governance of golf in Victoria and is currently seeking a talented and passionate Regional Development Officer to join the team and ideally be based from the Geelong or surrounding area.

As the Regional Development Officer you will report to the Regional Development Manager and will work closely with local Golf Clubs and the District Associations as well as with other Regional Development Officers across the State. You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational direction to the golf clubs and providing game development, including golf coaching. The geographical area of delivery for this role is approximately bordered by Queenscliff, Portland and Hamilton.  

You will be accountable to plan, drive and deliver outcomes that will assist the Clubs and Districts to develop and prosper and to promote the sport as the “Game for Life”.

Your responsibilities will cover two (2) key areas, Club Development and Game Development.

Club Development

Support and establish professional relationships with clubs to provide:

·       Business & Strategic Planning

·       Member Retention Opportunities

·       Member Recruitment Opportunities

·       Governance and Club Help Assistance

·       Funding Options

·       Volunteer Strategies

Game Development

Increase participation and membership within the sport by implementing and delivering:

·       National and State Programs such as:

o   My Golf (Junior)

o   Sporting Schools (Junior)

o   Play Golf (Adult)

o   Swing Fit

·       Rules Assistance Programs

·       Education for Community Instructors (Coaches)

·       Media promotion of the game

To be considered for this position you will need to have a passion for golf, have sound administration, communication and personal skills and preferably have tertiary business or sport administration qualifications or experience in delivering sport administration and game development.

As the role is not office based it is also essential that you possess exceptional time management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks whilst working effectively in a team environment.
