John Beaumont wins the 2013 SA Country Championship

2013 Country Champion John Beaumont Mount Gambier s John Beaumont has won the 2013 Country Championship, defeating David Pateyjohn s from Willunga 7&5 in the Match Play final at Kooyonga Golf Club on Fri 4 October. Beaumont who qualified in fourth position after rounds of 79-80 at Royal Adelaide and The Grange respectively, moved through the first two match play rounds comfortably before narrowly defeating Brad Altmann on the 19th in the Semi Final. Beaumont who last week finished runner up in the SA Men’sSenior Amateur Championship, won his first Country Championship in 1983. Kooyonga also played host to the Fourball stableford competition on the final day of Country Week, with the pairing of Roger Dayman and Christopher Hunter victorious carding a solid 42 points. Runners up in the Fourball were Merv Clark and Chris Williams on 40 points. Earlier in the week David Unferdorben claimed the Individual Stableford event played at Glenelg Golf Club with 33 points ahead of Bruce Agnew from Stansbury with 31 points. On Wednesday at Adelaide Shores, Adam Alldritt & Chat Methven (gross 75) claimed the Country Championship by 6 strokes ahead of Timothy Atze & Jared Thoman. For all results Click here
