Based in Dunbar, Scotland, John Huggan is the European correspondent for the leading magazines Golf Digest and Golf World. He is also the golf correspondent for 'Scotland on Sunday,' an editor-at-large for Golf Australia magazine and a columnist for New Zealand Golf Magazine, Golf International and Golfobserver.com. In his spare time, he is a regular contributor to the Guardian newspaper and Golf World (UK).
In a former life, Huggan was the senior editor in charge of instruction at Golf Digest for eight years, during which time he wrote hundreds of articles with many of the world's best players and teachers. He was the 'ghost' behind David Leadbetter's first two books, "The Golf Swing' and 'Faults and Fixes,' 'Golf for Dummies' with Gary McCord and Hank Haney's 'The Only Golf Lesson You'll Ever Need' and 'No More Bad Shots.'
In another, long ago past life, Huggan was the 1978 Scottish Boys champion, He represented his country at Boys, Youths and Full International level and was runner-up in both the 1981 British Youths Championship and the 1983 Scottish Amateur Championship and reached the quarterfinal of the 1985 British Amateur at Royal Dornoch. In 1984 one of his teammates was a promising youngster by the name of Colin Montgomerie.
