JOINT STATEMENT: Inbee Park

JOINT STATEMENT from the Women&aposs Australian Open and the ANZ Ladies Masters. Reigning US Open champion In-Bee Park of Korea has informed organisers of her withdrawal from the upcoming ANZ Ladies Masters and the Women’s Australian Open. Park, 21, cited personal reasons for pulling out of the Ladies Masters starting on 5 February at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast and the Women&aposs Open at The Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne from 12-15 February. Golf Australia Director of Championships Trevor Herden and Ladies Masters Tournament Chairman Bob Tuohy said they were disappointed by the decision because Park, ranked No. 20 in the world, was contracted to both events. Both tournaments are co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the Australian Ladies Professional Golf while Park lists her home tour as the United States LPGA.
