Jones appointed to key Professional Role at Glenelg

Glenelg Golf Club have announced the appointment of Gareth Jones to the interim role of Locum Head Professional, commencing 4th July 2011. This appointment will continue until 1st October 2011, when Shane Robinson commences as Head Professional & Director of Golf Operations. At that time, Gareth will continue to be based at the Club, taking on the lead role as Head Teaching Professional, under Shane s guidance and management. Gareth has been a Full Member of the Australian PGA since 1996 and has retained a AAA rating since 2002. He will be joining Glenelg from his most recent position as Head Coach at the Adelaide Shores Pro Shop and Golf Academy, and currently holds the positions of Golf SA State Coach and Golf Australia National Coach. Experienced in all aspects of Professional golf, Gareth held the Club Professional position at Patterson River Country Club in Melbourne for 3 years, where he ran his own successful retail and coaching business. Prior to that, he was Assistant Coach with the Australian Institute of Sport Golf Program, based at Moonah Links in Victoria.
