Jones second on Nationwide tour

Australian golfer Matthew Jones has fired a final round of 68 to finish in equal second behind Jimmy Walker at the Pete Dye Classic in America. Jones hit five birdies and one bogey and looked likely to be involved in a three-way playoff, but Walker made a crucial up-and-down at the final hole to seal the one-shot victory. Starting the day seven shots behind third-round leader Parker McLachlin, Walker carded a flawless round of 67 to finish the tournament at 15-under-par, one clear of Justin Hicks (66) and Jones. McLachlin struggled on the greens during the final round, eventually shooting a five-over round of 77 to finish in a tie with Tom Carter for fourth place at 12-under. Young Australian Jarrod Lyle closed with a 72 to finish in a tie for 37th at four-under, while fellow Australian Kim Felton (69) was a stroke further behind in equal 46th and James Nitties (72) tied for 59th at level par.
