Shingo Katayama moved four strokes clear at the top of the Japan Open leaderboard after Australian Brendan Jones dropped to third placed after the third round on Saturday. Jones shot a disastrous five-over par, but still remains in third place five shots behind Katayama thanks to his solid opening rounds. The 35-year-old Katayama carded a one-over-par 72 at the Koga Golf Club and is one-under for the tournament. Kunihiro Kamii shot a two over 73 and is in second place four shots behind the leader and just one ahead of Jones. Craig Parry is another Aussie doing well, after three rounds he is in a tie for eighth at nine-over. Defending champion Toru Taniguchi is 14 shots off the lead after producing a six-over-par 77.
