Jones ties for eighth in Japan

Brendan Jones has finished in a tie for eighth place after an even-par final round at the Tokai Classic in Japan. Jones was leading the tournament after a first-round 67, but failed to replicate that early form and could only manage a 73, 71 and 72 in his other three rounds. The Aussie s final score of five-under par was six shots adrift of winner Toshinori Muto. Muto finished two strokes clear of Yuto Ikeda (nine-under) with Makoto Inoue (eight-under) a further stroke back. Steven Conran enjoyed the equal best final round of the day when he shot a three-under 69 to storm up the leaderboard into a tie for 11th. It was a good tournament for the Aussie contingent with Chris Campbell another stroke back in a tie for 16th along with Scott Laycock.
