Jones ties for sixth at Memorial Tournament

Matt Kuchar has claimed his sixth PGA Tour victory and third in the past two years, triumphing by two shots at the Memorial Tournament. The 34-year-old American, who was overhauled on the final day of the Crowne Plaza Invitational a week ago, closed out the Memorial Tournament with a four-under 68 to outgun Kevin Chappell and Kyle Stanley. Kuchar&aposs 68 saw him finish on 12-under overall, two strokes ahead of Chappell, who birdied four of the last six holes to claim second position, while Stanley slumped to third after a one-under 71 to finish third at seven under. Scott Stallings and Bill Haas shared fourth spot at six-under overall, while Russell Henley and Australia&aposs Matt Jones claimed a tie for sixth, a further shot back. Jones&apos fellow Aussie Adam Scott also performed strongly, claiming a share of 13th at three under. Kuchar started Sunday&aposs fourth round at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Ohio at the top of the leaderboard, two strokes clear of Stanley and the former moved further ahead on the opening hole, posting a birdie. Stanley dropped further behind on the third hole with a bogey and never really recovered, while Kuchar birdied the 11th, 15th and 18th holes to wrap up victory ahead of a fast-finishing Chappell. The win was Kuchar&aposs second title in 2013, following his triumph at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February, while he also took out The Players Championship in March 2012.
