Nominee Name: Benjamin Cook MYGolf Centre: Patterson River Golf Club State: VIC Age: 5 Favourite Golfer and why? Paul (Patterson River Centre Coordinator) because he teaches me how to play golf! Why should Ben be the July MYGolfer of the Month? At just five years of age, Ben is one of our youngest MYGolfers and loves nothing more than getting out onto the practice fairway and hitting a golf ball especially with his driver! Although relatively new to golf, joining Patterson River s program earlier this year, Ben has already shown great improvement and was a keen student at the recent school holiday clinics conducted by Teaching Professional and Centre Coordinator Paul Boxall. Listing his driver as his favourite club, because sometimes I can hit the ball 50 metres , he also carries a putter and a 7/8 iron and is hopeful of adding a bag and a buggy to equipment collection after his next birthday! Ben s Centre Coordinator, Paul Boxall, describes him as a true little champ for the future and believes he has great style and ability for his age. According to Paul, Ben is extremely keen and arrives early for clinics before staying later for more practice at the end of each session. A great example of his enthusiasm occurred during the last school holidays; his mother had planned for him to only stay at Paul s clinics for a few hours in the morning, but Ben had other ideas and was determined to stay for the entire day!!
