Victorian Junior Averages

The Victorian Junior Averages is the overarching junior program that combines both the Geoff Ogilvy Trophy for junior boys (formerly the Junior Ivo Whitton Trophy), and the Future Champions Trophy (formerly the Junior Girls Averages) for junior girls.

The trophies are played throughout the entire year and are awarded to the boy and girl who has the lowest scoring average in ‘Geoff Ogilvy Trophy’ and ‘Future Champions Trophy’ events. Players are able to view their ranking throughout the year and are able to compare their playing average with other junior golfers across Victoria.

Players aged between 14 and 15 as at 1 January and with a handicap of 20 or less are eligible to join the Under 16 Circuit and players aged under 14 with a handicap of 20 or less are eligible to join the Under 14 Circuit, both of which are components of the Geoff Ogilvy and Future Champions Trophies. The players who have the lowest scoring average in these age categories at the end of the year are awarded the Under 16 Award and Under 14 Award in the Geoff Ogilvy and Future Champions Trophies respectively.

The Victorian Junior Average are considered when selecting State Teams and Development Squads such as the Under 16 and Under 14 Squad.

Players do not need to register for the Victorian Junior Averages. All eligible players who compete in a Victorian Junior Ranking event will have their scores processed automatically towards their yearly average.
