Juniors in focus at Development Forum

ly fifty industry representatives covering Golf Australia, the PGA of Australia, State Golf Associations, Junior Foundations and the Australian Sports Commission met in Melbourne this week for the annual National Golf Development Forum.

The focus of this year’s forum was the re-launch of the MyGolf National Junior Program.

In a historic joint venture, Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia recently signed on to deliver ONE national junior program – MyGolf – together.

This is a significant and exciting step for golf in Australia and demonstrates the commitment of GA and the PGA to work collaboratively to grow participation.

The forum also spent time discussing developments in women’s participation including the upcoming SwingFit program as well as work in the club support area.

During the forum, MYGolf Joint Venture chairman and former AFL Manager of Operations Adrian Anderson addressed the delegates, raising the importance of making decisions in the best interests of the sport overall.

The National Development Forum has been held annually across Australia since 2009.
