Juniors take centre stage at the SSV Finals

The SSV Junior Secondary Schools Final returned to the Gardiners Run Golf Course today as students from all corners of the state battled to claim the titles. On a breezeless afternoon the scene was set for some low scoring, and the players didn’t disappoint.

In the girls championship Piper Stubbs (Rowville SC) improved on her second place finish last year by taking out the trophy in empathic fashion with a 3 under par 69. Fellow Rowvillian Alessandra Nagayo made it a one two finish for Rowville Secondary by taking home second place with a 1 over par 73. Tiana Wanigasekera (Parkdale SC) and Jazy Roberts (Crusoe College) both finished next on 5 over 77, with Tiana officially taking home the bronze medallion.

In the boys championship Levi Sclater (Sale College) lit up the course with a 6 under 66 to take the title by a comfortable 4 shots. Levi has now successfully won two out of a possible three school titles, with his chance at all three having to wait till he reaches senior secondary. In second position was the young superstar James Walker (Catholic College Wodonga) with a 2 under 70, and Charles Kueh (Balwyn High) finishing in third with an even par 72.
