Kataoka leads in Jakarta

Unheralded Japan golfer Daisuke Kataoka went to the top of the leaderboard through three rounds at the Indonesian Masters on Saturday. Kataoka shot a blistering six-under 66, including two birdies to finish his day at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club, to lead from South African Ernie Els and Austrian Bernd Wiesberger. Els and Wiesberger are 10-under overall, one behind Kataoka, after going five- and four-under respectively. Kataoka, 24, said he just felt a boost of confidence during his third round, as he carded eight birdies and two bogeys. “I&aposm striking the ball very good,” he said. “My putting was normal on the first two days but it was great today. I never changed anything, somehow I just felt more confident with my putting. “I&aposve mastered the speed of the greens and that made my round slightly easier.” Outright fourth is Canada&aposs Richard Lee on nine-under overall, after he went four under on Saturday. Taipei&aposs Hung Chien-yao is fifth (eight under), while a group of five are tied for sixth on seven-under par – including Thai star Thongchai Jaidee, Australian Jake Higginbottom, Indian pair Rahil Gangjee and Shiv Kapur and Korea&aposs Mo Joong kyung.
