LADIES&apos BRITISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP, Ganton Golf Club AIS squad member Stacey Keating (VIC) is through to the final 16 of the Ladies&apos British Amateur Championship after her second round win at Ganton Golf Club. Keating, who is the current Srixon Australian Amateur champion, defeated American Stefanie Kenoyer 1up to progress to the final 16. It followed her earlier victory (also 1up) over Italian Giulia Molinaro. She now faces Switzerland&aposs Fanny Vuigner for a place in the quarter finals. Western Australian and National Squad member Jessica Speechley was beaten by England&aposs Charlotte Ellis in the first round. Ganton Golf Club’s course, situated some 11 miles from Scarborough, will undoubtedly play its part in ensuring that the new champion is a player of the highest quality. The Yorkshire course, with its linksy feel, has staged the 1949 Ryder Cup, the 2000 Curtis Cup and the 2003 Walker Cup and was once referred to by Gary Player as the only inland course worthy of staging the Open championship .
