Keating “itching to start” in Morocco

Golf Australia Rookie Program member Stacey Keating is in Agadir, Morocco and “itching to play” in this week&aposs Lalla Meryem Cup. It will be Keating&aposs third start on the Ladies European Tour (having played ANZ/RACV Ladies Masters and NZ Women&aposs Open) but her first as a full member outside Australia. “I&aposm really excited about getting the season started over here,” Keating said. “I haven&apost had anything on for a month or so, so I&aposm just really itching to play and see how I get on.” Played at Soleil Golf Club, which sits between the Atlanic Ocean and the Atlas Mountains, Keating said the course was in great shape going into the first LET event in the Northern Hemipshere. “Conditions have been great so far with nice calm condiions and around mid 20s each day so far,” Keating said. “Playing in the morning the course plays longer and it&aposs quite dewy in the mornings.” As it&aposs first season on Tour, Keating said she was a little unsure of how the season would unfold. “It&aposs hard to say if I have any goals set at this point in the season, as I truly dont know what to expect and what it will take to succeed out here,” Keating said. “I think I will do this &aposas I go&apos a little, I would love to play my best and put myself into contention.” After Morocco, Keating will come back to Melbourne for a month before heading back to Europe for the Turkish Ladies Open at the start of May. “I am coming home after this one, home for four weeks and then come back for the full 6 months after that,” Keating said. ” I cant wait,” she added. Keating finished in fourth place at LET Final Qualifying in 2010 to give herself full playing rights in the 2011 season. The Victorian is also a former Srixon Australian Amateur champion.
