Australian and ALPG member Stacey Keating took an early 4 shot lead at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France by shooting one of her best rounds in her two years as professional.  Keating shot a 8-under 62 to move into prime position ahead of French player Virginie Lagoutte- Clement at Chantaco Golf Club, France.

Keating, won her first professional title in her last start on the Ladies European Tour a fortnight ago, at the Tenerife Open de España.

rn

"I&aposve been playing well the last few weeks obviously, but it&aposs nice to put it all together in one round" said Keating. "I&aposm feeling very confident about my game right now and I&aposm happy where I am".

rn

The 26 Year old from Cressy Victoria had a great start to her round with three birdies in a row and turned at six under.

rn

She followed up with three consecutive birdies from the 15th after a bogey on the 11th hole.

rn

Keating credited her boyfriend and caddie, Darren Peters for his ability to read the greens on the first round which saw her made only 28 putts.

rn

The event&aposs star attraction is retired former No. 1 player, Lorena Ochoa who played on sponsor&aposs request.

rn

Despite being out of retirement for almost 2 years, Ochoa showed that she has not lost her touch by firing a 1-under 69 in her opening round.

rn

Ochoa didn&apost offer any excuses apart from the fact that she lack practice on her short game. "I three putted a couple of times and it made me really mad, but its&apos ok. I have to bear with some bad shots".

rn

Rebecca Artis is the next best Australian in equal 25th at even par, while Sarah Kemp and Nikki Garrett are tied for 34th at one over par.
