Keating through to British Amateur Match Play

AIS/Golf National Squad member Stacey Keating has qualified for the knock-out Match Play stages of the Ladies British Amateur at Royal St David&aposs Golf Club in Harlech, Wales. Keating, from Victoria, shot a second round 2-over-par 75 to add to her opening round 77 to finish at 6-over par after two rounds and inside the 8-over-par qualifying bracket. Fellow AIS/National Squad member Rebecca Flood (NSW) finished at 9-over par after two rounds and missed a play-off for qualification by one stroke. Julia Boland (AIS/GA National Squad) and Whitney Hillier (GA National Squad), both finished outside the qualification places after challenging rounds. The Number 1 qualifying position was shared between Spain&aposs Carlota Ciganda and Azahara Munoz who both played for Spain in Adelaide at last year&aposs World Amateur Team Championships in Adelaide. Ciganda and Munoz finished at 8-under par. Both girls are students at Arizona State University in the United States. Sweden&aposs Caroline Hedwall and England&aposs Jodi Ewart, who also competed in Adelaide, both finished inside the top 10.
