Keen Teachers Learn Golf

Carlton South Teacher Training Day

On 4th June teachers from seven different schools came along to a JNJG teacher training day at Carlton South Public School. Most of the teachers had not played golf  before so all were a bit nervous. However it didn’t take long before they all realised how much fun golf can be and how much the students would love the golf lessons.

Throughout the day the teachers learned the MyGolf Program which included the skills of chipping, long hits and putting.  The teachers were all surprised at how easy it will be to run the program at their schools.

They even tried out their chipping and putting skills after lunch down the hallway in one of the buildings while the students were still outside enjoying their afternoon break! The big story of the day was that four teachers mastered the 'Impossible Putt' which is quite extraordinary!

At the end of the day the teachers couldn’t wait to get back to their schools and start their golf program with the students. One teacher from Connells Point Public School was so keen that the next day she started the golf with her students!!
