John Kelly has held onto his overnight lead to take out the Bendigo Senior Amateur by three shots.
Kelly, leading by two overnight after his terrific first round score of 72, extended his lead by one and closed out the tournament with a 77 in round two today.
The runner-up to Kelly was Kevin Sims who was consistent over his two rounds with scores of 77 and 75.
Sims finished the tournament in impressive fashion, making birdies on holes 13,14 and 17 on his closing stretch.
In the net section, it was Robert Sutton who claimed victory after a fantastic net score of 66 on day two.
Sutton was victorious by four shots after his first round score of 71 gave him a total of 137 for the event.
Barry Miles was runner-up to Sutton after his great scores of 72 and 69 net.
In the women’s section, Julie Daniel edged out Elizabeth Raftery on a countback after the pair finished on 44 scratch stableford points apiece.
Trailing by one going into the last day, Daniel did just enough to win the title.
The women’s stableford saw Tina Cowie lift the trophy after her brilliant final round score of 38 points.
Her 38 combined with her first round of 31 saw her victorious by three shots over a host of players.
