Kendall’s playoff win

American Skip Kendall has taken out the Louisiana Open on the PGA&aposs Nationwide tour after defeating compatriot Paul Claxton on the playoff hole, with Aussie Jarrod Lyle coming third. Going into the round, three successive scores of 66 on the par 71 course had seen Kendall well out in front of the field, yet a sluggish 70 on the final day exposed the leader as Claxton (65) came home with a wet sail to finish tied with Kendall at 16 under par. Yet, after keeping pace with Kendall for the first two playoff holes, Claxton dropped a shot on the third allowing Kendall to take victory. Lyle (68), meanwhile, was tied for second at the start of the day&aposs play and, despite playing another solid round, he could not stage a repeat of his third round 63 and was overtaken by Claxton. Australian David Mackenzie (67) ended nine under par, while one shot further back was compatriot Steven Bowdith (67) and New Zealander Tim Wilkinson who enjoyed a great final day 66.
