Keperra Bowl

The Keperra Bowl will have a truly international feel this year with a number of the players coming from overseas including representatives from Switzerland, New Zealand and the United States.

American youngster, David Snyder who currently plays off a handicap of +5, narrowly missed qualifying for this years US Open (1 shot), arrived in the country recently and was quick to book a round on Keperra's famed Old Course and just as eager to praise the championship layout and its current playing condition.

Snyder will be just one of the players to watch over the four days as some of the best international amateur golfers descend on Keperra, including members of the Australian National squads and State Representatives, all of whom will be chasing world amateur golf ranking points.

The Keperra Bowl is the only Golf Australia National Tier One Ranking event held in Queensland each year by way of invitation from Golf Australia and Golf Queensland. The Tournament is also an R & A approved world golf ranking event, and it is anticipated that there will be a field of around 150 players.

The Bowl will be held at the Keperra Country Golf Club from Tuesday 15th to Friday 18th of October.

In spite of devastating local and state-wide flooding experienced earlier in the year, the Old Course has responded remarkably well and will be an excellent challenge to all players who will again provide the spectators with some excellent world class stroke play.

The organising aspects of the Bowl are well advanced and the Keperra Golf Club is pleased to announce that following a successful 2012 tournament, Hahn Super Dry 3.5 will be the Principal Partner for the 2013 Keperra Bowl. The Club is also pleased to announce that this relationship has been extended for a further three years.

Keperra Golf Club also welcomes Austral Volvo this year as a Tournament Platinum Sponsor. Toro Australia are again sponsoring a hole in one prize of $1,000 for the first player who may have an ace on the 12th hole These partnerships further strengthen the quality of the event and it's standing as a high profile amateur sporting event in Brisbane.

Critical to the ongoing success of any major sporting event is media support. Your media outlet has been identified as one that would help to promote the Keperra Bowl in 2013 and we seek your editorial support. Entry is free to the public on all four days.
