South Korea&aposs Sung-hoon Kang has claimed the 2013 Korea Open title in sensational circumstances after compatriot Hyung-tae Kim was penalised two shots towards the end of the final day. Kim thought he had a two-shot lead just before he attacked the 17th hole, but he was cruelly informed of his penalty prior to his second-last tee shot. Kim received the setback because he was deemed to have grounded a club in an area deemed to be a hazard on the 13th hole. And Kang took full advantage to finish on four under overall – one stroke ahead of the five-man chasing group which included Kim, Northern Ireland&aposs Rory McIlroy and three other South Koreans in Sang-hee Lee, Chang-woo Lee and Jyung-kyung Mo who all ended up on three under. Another pair of South Koreans, amateur Jeong-woo Ham and Hyun-woo Ryu, finished a shot further back on two under in a tie for seventh. The only Australian in the tournament was Rhein Gibson (equal 33rd) who ended up on nine over for the tournament.
