The final round of division 4 and 5 Metropolitan Match Play was contested this morning at Northern and Ranfurlie Golf Clubs respectively. In division 4, Kingswood finished with barnstorming 6 ½ victory against Eastern to claim the honours by just half a match over Rossdale. Both Kingswood and Rossdale finished tied on 4 contests each. Meanwhile Patterson River proved why they had eared top spot heading into the final round with a stellar 6 ½ win over Box Hill to be crowned the 2013 winners.
Patterson River’s dominance throughout the season was highlighted by three of their players going undefeated. The undefeated players for Patterson River included; Sally Thornton, Christine West and Ronda Grieve, while Linda McCrae (Centenary Park), Jill Gillingham (Medway) and Eastern’s Kyoko Sato also finished the season without a loss.
Divisions 1, 2 and 3 Metropolitan Match Play will conclude on Friday 10 May.
