Kline, Bunque & Micheluzzi, McGill claim Vic Foursomes

The 2014 Victorian Men’s & Women’s Foursomes were conducted today at The Heritage Country Club in Chirnside Park. Brad McGill (Berwick Montuna) & David Micheluzzi (Cranbourne) played some exceptional golf to claim the Men’s Championship with two rounds of 78 & 76 on the challenging Par 72 St.John’s Course. Trailing by three heading into round two, the boys managed to be even par through 12 and a triple bogey 7 on their last hole was still good enough to claim the trophy by one.

Runner’s Up and winners of the Australasian Challenge Shield were Keysborough members Clay Nicholls & Craig Rimington who were one back on 155. Not unfamiliar with the shield is Clay who now makes it four Australasian Shield titles.

Meanwhile, Olivia Kline (Victoria) & Stephanie Bunque (Medway) won the Women’s Championship with two outstanding scores of 77 & 75 for a 152 total. The two wearing matching shirts also went out this afternoon in even par at the turn and held on for a solid 75. A great score considering the challenging breezy conditions.

Today’s winners will edge their names on the trophy alongside names including Stuart Appleby, James Nitties, Stephen Allan, David Bransdon, Richard Green, Brad Hughes & Joan Fisher just to name a few.

The Heritage has now hosted the Victorian Foursomes for the fourth straight year and has been fantastic. The 2015 Victorian Foursomes will move down to the Mornington Peninsula, with The National hosting on Sunday 25 October 2015.
