Kline last Aussie at British Amateur

Melbourne's Olivia Kline will fly the Australian flag alone into the match play phase of the Women's British Amateur Championship in Wales.

Kline, a member at Kingston Heath, fired a second-round 76 on a tougher second day of qualifying stroke play phase, but her five-over-par total safely qualified her at 38th of 64 who advanced.

She will face Norway's Karoline Lund in the first match play round tonight, with the winner to immediately move into an afternoon round-of-32 clash.

Sadly, Kline was the only one of the five Australians in the field to advance.

One player at eight under advanced, but that did not impact the other other four Aussies.

Adelaide's Ella Adams improved greatly on her first round, but her 79-76 total left her 13 over; Queenslander Dee Dee Russell couldn't find her normal groove in rounds of 76-81 for 15 over; Victorian Montana Strauss couldn't replicate her recent form with rounds of 79-80 for 17 over; and Queenslander Gennai Goodwin battled late in her rounds of 76-86 for 20 over.
