Kooringal Senior Amateur Champions Crowned

A total of 87 senior golfers converged to Kooringal Golf Club for two fantastic days of golf at the 2019 Kooringal Senior Amateur.

Defending champion Ian McCleary (Kooringal) was joined by Guy Krall (The National) and Geoff Charnley (Rossdale) atop of the leaderboard after 36-holes of stroke play, with Krall prevailing after a countback.

Stephen Day from Ballarat claimed the nett event by one shot to local John Sist on 142.

Queens Park member Kerrin Biddle dominated the women's event taking home the scratch stableford title by seven shots with 56 points. Keysborough member Sandra Collingwood finished runner-up with 49 points. June Tickell and Heather Harley finshed third and fourth respectively. 

Kooringal local Julie Feehan won the stableford event with consistent scores of 33-34 points to edge out Margaret Anderson by a single shot.

Golf Australia would like to commend Kooringal Golf Club for hosting an excellent event with the course presented in magnificent condition.
