A late flurry from Jbe Kruger has catapulted the South African to the top of the leaderboard on day two of the Hong Kong Open, while Australia&aposs Wade Ormsby is tied for third.
Kruger, winner of last year's Avantha Masters, carded a four-under-par 66 to hold a one-stroke lead ahead of Stuart Manley at the halfway stage in Hong Kong on Friday.
The 27-year-old made a slow start to proceedings, bogeying three of his first nine holes at the Hong Kong Golf Club.
But Kruger regained his composure to birdie six of his last nine, including four in succession from the 11th hole through to 14.
Welshman Manley is hot on his trail after firing a 67, which included six birdies of his own.
Germany's Alex Cejka (67), Ormsby (68) and Indian Shiv Kapur (66) are all a further stroke back heading into the third round.
Ormsby, who finished in a share of 89th spot at the Alfred Dunhill Championship last week, produced a solid second round, with his only blemish coming at the fourth hole.
Australian counterpart Andrew Dodt is three shots off the pace following his round of 70.
Espen Kofstad (68), Angelo Que (67), Robert-Jan Derksen (67), Chris Doak (68), Prom Meesawat (70), Daisuke Kataoka (68) and Boonchu Ruangkit (67) are placed alongside Dodt at four under for the tournament.
At three under are Australian's Unho Park (66) and Marcus Fraser (69), who are joined by 11 others, including defending champion Miguel Angel Jimenez (67).
Meanwhile, Scott Hend avoided the cut after posting a round of 70 to sit even par overall.
