Matt Kuchar has ended the third round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational as he started it, out in front, after posting a one-under-par 69. The 34-year-old finished the third round at the Colonial Country Club on 11 under, a stroke ahead of fellow Americans Matt Every, Chris Stroud and Boo Weekley, as well as Graham DeLaet of Canada. Australia&aposs Marc Leishman, who started his third round four shots off the lead, dropped out of contention with a two-over 72. Kuchar was one of 54 players who had to complete their second rounds early on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas, and posted three-straight par scores to card a five-under 65, which put him at the top of the leaderboard with DeLaet a shot back in second. Every and Weekley managed four-under third rounds of 66 on Saturday, while Stroud produced a 67, to rise up the leaderboard and put pressure on Kuchar but the world number 13 notched two birdies on the back nine to head the field with a day to play. Having started his third round with a birdie, Kuchar stayed top of the leaderboard until he suffered consecutive bogeys starting on the seventh hole, which saw DeLaet leapfrog him. But birdies on the 11th and 16th holes meant Kuchar edged ahead again as he looks to claim his second title of the year. DeLaet slipped back to 10 under with three bogeys and two birdies on the back nine, while Every, Weekley and Stroud rose to join him in the second half of their third rounds. South Africa&aposs Tim Clark, as well as Martin Flores, John Rollins and Steve Flesch of the USA, are tied for sixth on nine under. A pair of Swedes and an American duo sit a further stroke behind on the leaderboard, Jonas Blixt and Freddie Jacobson sharing 10th position with Bud Cauley and Zach Johnson.
