West Australian Rick Kulacz is dominating the Scratch Players event at Del Rio Country Club, California taking a five-stroke lead into the final round. Kulacz shot a blistering seven-under in his third round to take command of the championship with scorss of 69 66 and 64 (199). The only other Australian to make the 54-hole cut of one-over (214) was Queenslander Jake Younan-Wise with scores of 70 69 70 (209). Ray Beaufils (216), Jamie Arnold (218) and Rhein Gibson (222) all missed. With the exception of Kulacz and Arnold who have qualified for the US Amateur this is the last event of the northern summer for the remainder of the Australian players.
