La’Cassie wins Q-School

Bronson La&aposCassie has shot a six-under par final round of 66 to win the PGA Tour of Australasia&aposs Qualifying School tournament. With the top 35, including ties, securing tour cards for next year, there was never any doubt as to who would win the tournament with La&aposCassie romping in to win by ten strokes. Korea&aposs Sung Lee also shot a final round of 66 to finish in a tie for second place with Queensland&aposs Andrew Dodt. In second place going into the final round, Euan Walters shot a disappointing 73, but still finished in fourth place. New Zealand&aposs Mark Purser won a play-off to finish outright fifth ahead of Australian trio Rowan Beste, Nigel Stivala and David Gleeson. Three amateurs – Michael Lambert, Jarrad Roxby and Rudi Bezuidenhout – all did enough to secure their tour cards for next year. Players who finished between 36th and 60th will all gain minimal playing rights for the 2008 Von Nida Tour season.
