Lake Macquarie Pre Qualifying Underway

2013 Lake Macqarie International – Draw for Day 1 Pre Qualifying Results Scores of 78 (6 over or better) in Tuesday&aposs round have qualified for the Greater Building Society Lake Macquarie International main draw. A play-off was scheduled to determine which of the players on 78 would make it through, however, a large electrical storm made this impossible. It was thus determined to increase the field size to include all of these players. Pre Qualifying – Tuesday 22 January 2013
138 players are teeing it up at Belmont Golf Club today, with the top 86 players to join the exempt amateurs in the main event which commences Thursday. 2011 NSW Medallist Michael WIlliams (Bonnie Doon) and The Australian&aposs Zac Mullins are amongst many high quality players having to qualify this year.
LEADERBOARD FROM QUALIFYING This years event sees the 2011 winner Brady Watt (Western Australia) and recently crowned Australian Amateur Champion, Cameron Smith(Queensland) being amongst the favourites to take the pretigous crown. There are also many Internationals keen to take some silverware home with them. England have sent a strong team of four players, including 2012 NSW Medallist, Neil Raymond. Scotland have two representatives, as do Canada. Some sixteen New Zealanders have also made the trip across the ditch and are keen to make an impression.
