Lancelin Golf Club lead the way in WA

When it comes to introducing children into golf, Lancelin Golf Club is one club leading the way in successfully introducing a large numbers of children to play golf in WA.

Supported by the WA Golf Foundation, one hundred and twenty five students from Lancelin Primary School participated in a four week in school introductory program in term two.

Following the school program Lancelin Golf Club offered a seven week after school Junior Development Program ran by community golf instructor Sandra Smiles with help from PGA pro Glenn Paul.

The work put in by the club, in particular Sandra and Glenn, to link with local schools has been rewarded with sixteen juniors (eleven male and five female) participating in the program and eleven of these juniors then going on to registered participant of the MyGolf.

These eleven juniors are now members at Lancelin Golf Club.

Lancelin Golf Club continues to offer a range of opportunities for local children to play golf and even held a junior competition in October, which was a great success with 13 kids in attendance.
