Lautee and Kay claim the SA Junior Masters

Victorian Andre Lautee from Kingston Heath Golf Club and Becky Kay from Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club in Queensland, have started the 2017 season in fine style, by taking out the Golf SA Junior Masters at Royal Adelaide Golf Club.

A record field of 90 players assembled at Royal Adelaide Golf Club which was in sparkling condition in readiness to host the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open in February.

Players faced picture perfect conditions on day one but with a storm hitting overnight and into the morning of day two the event was reduced to an afternoon round only and subsequently a 54-hole championship.

Lautee finished the tournament one-over par with rounds of 72,69,76 (217), two strokes ahead of Cooper Geddes (Mandurah GC – WA).

Harry Doig (New South Wales GC) finished third at six-over while the best placed South Australian’s were Kyle Hayter (Kooyonga GC) & Lachlan Barker (Glenelg GC) both at 11-over and tied ninth.

The Victoria Team of Lautee and Max Charles who finished 5th individually, combined for a gross total of 441 to win the Teams Event.

In the Girl's Masters, Kay playing in her final junior event, claimed the championship blitzing the course to finish 7-under with rounds of 70,69,73 (212). Four strokes back was Han-Hsuan Yu from Taiwan who finished runner up on count back from Isabelle Taylor (Sanctuary Cove GC).

South Australian Jin-young Yun from The Grange GC, finished in ninth position at 7-over, with rounds of 74, 79, 73 (226).

The Queensland team of Cassie Porter and Isabelle Taylor won the teams event with a combined gross score of 444.
