Lee continues march to LPGA card

Soo Jin Lee has continued her march towrds the 2018 LPGA tour after adding a second round 71 to her first round 66 at the LPGA stage 1 qualifying school at Mission Hills Country Club in California overnight.

The Sydney resident is in a tie for 5th place at seven under par and just two shots behind the leader, American Janie Jackson.

The Australian Golf Club's Celina Yuan has put herself back into contention for a card after firing a 3-under par 69 to go rocketing up the standings. The 18 year old now sits in 38th place at 2 under par.

Victorian Grace Lennon added a disappointing 4 over par 76 to her first round 68 to fall down the leaderboard and into a tie for 73rd at even par.

Alexandra Orchard and Nadine White currently sit at 2 over par and are the only other Australians inside the vital top 125.

With the cut being made after tonight's third round to only the low 125 and ties, the remaining Australian girls will have some work to do.

361 women entered the opening stage of the three stage of qualifying school. The low 90 and ties following the final-round will advance to Stage II of LPGA Qualifying Tournament in Venice, Florida beginning on October 16.
